age 45, a lifelong resident of Acton, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 10, 2008 in West Barnstable after a long battle with diabetes.

Born in Concord, she was the daughter of Faith A. (Nelson) Priest of West Springfield, formerly of Acton, and the late Gordon W. Priest, a Maynard native. Sharen was a graduate of Acton-Boxborough Regional High School, and Northeastern University where she majored in business. She worked with her father in the family business, Gordon W. Priest Trucking Company, as well as at Middlesex Savings Bank and Dunn Oil Company. Later she was a waitress at the 99 Restaurant in Westford and Crossroads Cafe in Acton. A Red Sox fan and an avid animal lover, Sharen especially loved time spent with horses & her beloved dogs, Tegan and Zoey. She was the sister of the late Ronald Priest.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sisters, Cheryl Davies and husband Thomas of Cazenovia, New York, and Bonnie Brown and husband Charles of Boylston; a nephew Brenden Davies and a niece, Emily Davies.

All are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, May 13th from 4:00-8:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Mass Ave (Rte 111) Acton. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 14th at 11:00am at the funeral home, with burial following in Glenwood Cemetery, Parker Street, Maynard. The family suggests those who wish may make donations in memory of Sharen Jane Priest to either the American Diabetes Association Always and Forever Program, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA. 02210, or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 520 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, New York 10018.
